Driving as Drawing // 'Drifting Eye'. Print edition for Nazcas group show, Brussels May 2019.

A lightly edited and inverted image of a car park in Nevada with a celestial feel via Google Earth, probably taken from an aircraft rather than satellite. However, flocks of Planet Labs ‘Dove’ satellites currently capture 1.4 million images of earth every day which are analysed by third parties to inform commodity investment (eg imaging banana plantation areas to assess yield) and to track expected sales and growth (eg monitoring car park capacity at malls), with the planet being read daily via machine learning.
